He then launched his own startup, Compass, a marketplace where you could hire web designers to build your website. Mike raised money for Compass and grew the company for 4 years, ultimately resulting in a pivot to client billing software, an asset sale, and wind down.
After Compass, Mike spent 8 months helping early stage founders raise money, helping early stage VCs make investments, and ultimately co-authoring Oversubscribed, a book about seed fundraising for founders which is distributed by top accelerators to get their founders up to speed on fundraising. Mike joined AWS in 2019 and has been working with Accelerators and Incubators across the US and Canada to help their startups grow ever since.
