Awesense has the ambitious goal of helping to remove 100 million tons of CO2 from the atmosphere by 2025. They have already helped take out 1.5 million tons, the equivalent of removing 200,000 cars from the road. For Founder and CEO, Mischa Steiner, entrepreneurship to solve global problems is the whole purpose.

The entire mission of Awesense is to “help with the decarbonization of the energy system.” But what Steiner “recognized early on was that in order to have impact we had to have a successful business. We couldn’t just have something that nobody would pay for.”

Join the Vancouver Chapter for a virtual dinner/happy hour, where Mischa Steiner will share a short talk about his founder journey and he’ll discuss:

  • The importance of a vision you believe in
  • Offering a product that no one else has
  • Creating a viable business plan to achieve impact
  • Relying on hard work to move through the hard times
  • Using innovations from a different industry

Afterwards, the leadership of Founders Network Vancouver chapter will lead a roundtable discussion.

Featured Speaker:

April’15 Cohort Mischa Steiner is the CEO of Awesense, a unique SaaS platform that takes a smarter approach to finding issues on the distribution grid. It combines: in-grid data collected by IoT devices, risk-based analytics software, and operational performance.
