Marcus Nelson of Addvocate

Marcus Nelson, Founder of Addvocate

 Name: Marcus Nelson

Background: Marcus Nelson joined Salesforce in July 2009, where he pioneered, evangelized, developed and ran that enterprise’s online community efforts. By 2011, he was recognized as one of the most effective enterprise social media strategists in the enterprise.

But his vision went further than his employer wanted to go; he saw a way to lever the power of online conversations between all employees and stakeholders in an organization.

In May 2012, he left Salesforce—with the company’s blessings—to create the first enterprise social media management system that could smoothly integrate the credibility of the individual with the power of corporate brand. That vision became Addvocate.

Company: Imagine if businesses could join the conversation employees are having about their brand, figure out who they are, and validate them for it. Addvocate makes it easy to track these social voices for a business, foster a sense of community, and empower that community to be heard.

Addvocate employees take control of their work-related social sharing, allowing them to share what they want, the way they want it, and letting businesses monitor company-related content.

fnMentoring is on Wednesday January 8th beginning at 10:30 am PST. RSVP here to participate in this event.
