fnMentoring functions accelerate your startup and expand your high-tech network through mentoring sessions with founders and featured guest experts. Functions are free to members but require your RSVP. If you are not a member you can apply here. Next week’s featured topic & guest will be:
Topic Description: Building for the enterprise that will maintain optionality for a potential M&A exit.
Name: Ted Summe
Background: Ted Summe is Founder and CEO of Discover.ly, an enterprise tool that puts social data to work. Earlier in his career, he worked with enterprise software companies at Morgan Stanley and bought them at Salesforce.com.
Having slung enterprise software companies at Morgan Stanley and bought them at Salesforce.com, Ted has some perspective on what it takes to sell an enterprise software company. Ted wrote a great article for Tech Crunch about knowing if your enterprise company is ready to sell. He will be elaborating on that article in his session.
Company: Discover.ly puts social to work, turning the “time waste” of social media into a “time save”. They do this by pulling in social data that already surrounds a company through its individual employees and utilize it at an enterprise level.
The company’s slate of investors is impressive: Salesforce, Bessemer Venture Partners,Atlas Venture, Great Oaks, Stocktwits founder Howard Lindzon, Yammer product chief Jim Patterson, MJ Elmore, and Alchemist Accelerator have all pitched in.
Discoverly’s overall mission is to “put social to work” by pulling in social data that already surrounds a company through its individual employees and utilize it at an enterprise level.
fnMentoring is on Wednesday, July 10th beginning at 10:30 am. RSVP to participate in this event.
