Join Clint Phillips as he shares his vision with shareholders, overcome doubt and move toward a meaningful future.

A quest to find adequate healthcare for his two-day-old daughter who suffered a stroke led Clint Phillips to found 2nd.MD, which recently sold to Accolade for $460M. 2nd.MD has helped thousands of people gain access to high-quality second opinions and has also set Clint on the path of healthcare reform. So, when Medi.ci – Curing Health+Care, an end-to-end virtual medical platform he recently founded, came up against challenges, he was ready to adapt.

At a Founders Network keynote presentation on December 15, he will share his experiences leading Medi.ci through a major pivot, including advice for founders on how to share their vision with shareholders, overcome doubt and move toward a meaningful future. He will offer ideas about how to cultivate a flexible mindset and a sense of healthy risk-taking to best lead your company. Finally, he’ll detail how to sense success, and move toward it cautiously but fearlessly. Grounded in his deep commitment to reforming healthcare and creating fruitful ventures, Clint will motivate founders to embrace the kind of change that leads to success.

You’ll learn:

  • How to examine your company’s vision with objectivity
  • Ways to approach investor relationships during a pivot
  • What Elon Musk said about failure and how it can help you
  • How to cultivate a flexible founder mindset

Keynote Speaker @ 9:40am PT

Clint Phillips

As the Chief Executive Officer of Health by Design, Clint is responsible for providing vision and direction, growing relationships, accessing capital, and driving innovation.

Clint is trained as a doctor of chiropractic & as a sports therapist and came to the US from South Africa in 2002 to play rugby for Aspen, the National Champs. By 2005, Clint had opened Aspen Back & Body in the St. Regis. His love for his clients was unmatched, and Aspen Back & Body was a big hit. World leaders, celebrities, and 40 of the Forbes 400 families traveled from across the world to get out of pain and avoid surgery.

Clint and his wife Jade’s third child, Gabi, had a stroke at birth. Shocked at the difficulty in accessing a good pediatric neurologist, Clint vowed to take on a much larger challenge and improve access for families. Clint founded 2nd.MD, which allows patients to enjoy unprecedented access via video to doctors at MD Anderson, Mayo, Hopkins, etc. It has grown over the last decade to cover over 9M members at companies like FedEx, Texas A&M, Wells Fargo, SpaceX, Chevron, EY, etc.

In 2018, Clint realized that although accessing top specialists was life-changing for patients, the real problems in the system started much earlier. The current fee-for-service model was primarily responsible for the staggering increase in cost and frustration in US healthcare. He dedicated his focus to building a next-generation health+care system called Medici. Medici builds custom, mostly virtual healthcare networks for large employers. Its impact is profound.

Clint has been married to Jade, a former TV gladiator, for 19 years and has three children: Clinty, Faith, and Gabrielle (who has recovered marvelously from her stroke). Their family support over 1,000 orphans to get educated and loved across Africa. Clint is an active member of his church and the USATF National Champion in various track & field events for his age group.

Testimonials

If you don't have a cohort group in something like Founders Network that you can develop long-term relationships with and discuss the same topics that come up with people that you already know, you're probably missing out on something very important.

David Plonsky

The number one advantage is the law of compound interest. The longer you stay in a very high-quality network the strong and more authentic relationships you build.

Chaitanya Vaidya

We know each other's business and we know each other's struggles. Having a personal relationship with other founders that is completely confidential and completely authentic gives you a lot of great advice.

Doug Lessing

FN manages my network for me by connecting me with other founders in my specific industry sector. I've been able to explore business development opportunities, partnerships, etc.

Becky Splitt

We just saw the first Mexican unicorn come to life this same week which is a fantastic idea. Being part of the Founders Network makes a lot of sense. We see that the Mexico City chapter is growing substantially.

Max Linares

There's a lot of great stuff going on even now in San Francisco. I've found Founders Network has been a great resource for me and for all of the founders I know during these tough times.

Jarie Bolander

It allowed me to meet people who had done this before that had the experience. I was able to explain an issue very briefly and they were able to give me a very detailed response on how they addressed it.

Terence Finn

I've used the platform to discover advice, connections, resources, discounts, on important services, connections to investors, and practice on how to pitch. The kind of conversations you can't get anywhere else on youtube or google searches.

Alexandra Greenhill

I see Founders Network as one of those necessary resources in the Chicagoland area.

Jason Jacobsohn

The Black Founders initiative allows me to shape this program where we can inspire, engage, and support Black Founders.
