In a webinar for Founders Network Danny Mizrahi will cover the role of cybersecurity compliance in startup funding, sales, and data.

Last year, venture capital funding for cybersecurity companies broke records. According to data from Pitchbook, in the first six months of last year alone, cybersecurity startups raised $9.9 billion globally. That figure was close to the entire total raised the year before. Additionally, the average valuation of cybersecurity companies raising funds more than doubled, to $475 million.

This influx in funding is likely because more and more companies are prioritizing cybersecurity as attacks increase. And startups are especially at risk. According to a recent report, more than half of all cyberattacks target small- to medium-sized enterprises.

That’s why cybersecurity entrepreneur Danny Mizrahi says cybersecurity is especially important for tech startups who are often tasked with keeping sensitive information confidential and protecting their product from hacks.

“There’s all these different cybersecurity policies that startups are supposed to have” Mizrahi says. And they don’t even know they’re supposed to have them until they’re closing a deal, which is sad because all of a sudden they’re freaking out.”

As a fellow startup founder, running two companies handling cybersecurity and IT, Mizrahi understands the challenges startups face when it comes to cybersecurity compliance. In a webinar for Founders Network members on August 9, 2022, he’ll cover the role of cybersecurity compliance in startup funding, sales, and data.

In his webinar, Mizrahi will cover:

  • Vendor Requirement Letters
  • 3rd Party Compliance Checklists
  • Privacy Policies
  • PCI/ISO/SOC2 Frameworks Overview

About the Speaker:

Danny Mizrahi is the Founder/CEO of Contango IT and Co-Founder/Managing Director of GRSee Americas, a very well known, industry recognized, Cybersecurity company.

Mizrahi started his professional career at 14, as a runner on the NY Mercantile Exchange where he learned the word Contango and it’s meaning to always improve / gain value, where the future is higher than the present. After 4 years at the University of Maryland, Mizrahi came back to NY to be the Director of Sales and Marketing for an IT Consulting Company. Soon after, he realized that there were better ways to help businesses than simply providing traditional IT support, Managed Services and Break/Fix solutions.

Contango IT was originally created in 2009 to leverage Cloud technologies to help businesses lower costs, while increasing productivity, reliability and availability of their data. Since then, Contango IT has 30+ people and has become much more, specializing in IT Service and Support for over 170 businesses on a daily basis, Custom Programming/Application Development, and Infrastructure/Build Outs. Mizrahi has also recently become the Managing Director for one of the top Cybersecurity companies in the world, GRSee Americas.

Mizrahi and his wife Sarah have 3 children, Shayna, Oakley and Rocco, and live in Manhattan.

Testimonials

If you don't have a cohort group in something like Founders Network that you can develop long-term relationships with and discuss the same topics that come up with people that you already know, you're probably missing out on something very important.

David Plonsky

The number one advantage is the law of compound interest. The longer you stay in a very high-quality network the strong and more authentic relationships you build.

Chaitanya Vaidya

We know each other's business and we know each other's struggles. Having a personal relationship with other founders that is completely confidential and completely authentic gives you a lot of great advice.

We just saw the first Mexican unicorn come to life this same week which is a fantastic idea. Being part of the Founders Network makes a lot of sense. We see that the Mexico City chapter is growing substantially.

There's a lot of great stuff going on even now in San Francisco. I've found Founders Network has been a great resource for me and for all of the founders I know during these tough times.

Jarie Bolander

It allowed me to meet people who had done this before that had the experience. I was able to explain an issue very briefly and they were able to give me a very detailed response on how they addressed it.

Terence Finn

I've used the platform to discover advice, connections, resources, discounts, on important services, connections to investors, and practice on how to pitch. The kind of conversations you can't get anywhere else on youtube or google searches.
